Clinical Trials
EquiTech will conduct clinical trials in humans to demonstrate more rapid pain relief of ZAG-1701 versus other ibuprofen products on the market. The clinical trials will use wisdom tooth extraction as a standard model for acute pain. After the dental surgery, some clinical trial patients will take ZAG-1701 to relieve their pain, some will take standard ibuprofen, and some will take a placebo. It is anticipated that these human clinical trials will commence in Q1 of 2004.
EquiTech may be able to conduct a clinical trial with fewer patients because the compounds only use already approved ingredients. It is projected that the clinical trials will require 12 to 24 months to complete.
| Advantage EquiTech - Regulatory approval and clinical trials are expected to be accelerated as EquiTech is using ingredients and dosages that have already proven to be safe and effective. This results in an anticipated total clinical trial time of 12-24 months, much less than typical. |
