Kerry Brown, C.A.

Chairman of the Board of Directors

Mr. Brown is a Chartered Accountant. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1979 and his Chartered Accountant Certification from the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Alberta in 1982. He worked for Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young) from 1981 to 1987 last serving as manager of the Entrepreneurial Services Group. Mr. Brown has been the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Foundation Equity Corporation since 1992, a venture capital company founded by Mr. Brown. Prior to that he was managing director of Capital Markets West, a private venture capital company. From 1995 to February, 2000, Mr. Brown was the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of McCoy Bros. Inc, a public company listed on the TSE, and he remains Chairman of the Board of McCoy Bros. Inc. From 1992 to present, Mr. Brown has been a Director of Global Thermoelectric Inc. and was formerly a managing officer of that company, a public company listed on the TSE. Mr. Brown is Chairman of the Board of Homebank Technologies Inc. listed on the Canadian Venture Exchange. He also serves on the Boards of Roam IT Canada Holdings Inc., Lacent Technologies Inc. and Economic Development Edmonton.


Dr. Fakhreddin Jamali

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Jamali is a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta. Prior to accepting Equitech's CEO position, he was the Associate Dean of the Faculty for six year. Dr. Jamali has vast expertise in drug development issues through his years of experience as a consultant and/or board member of many pharmaceutical firms. He is a member of Health Canada's TPD Expert Advisory Committee on Bioavailability and Bioequivalence and also Respiratory and Allergy Committee. He is the founding President of Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CSPS), and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (http://www.cspscanada.org). Dr. Jamali holds a PhD (pharmacokinetics) and an MSc (pharmaceutics) from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, as well as a PharmD from the University of Tehran, Iran. His research interests include the safety and efficacy of drugs such as analgesics, anti-rheumatic, and cardiovascular drugs. He has received numerous prestigious awards including the Killam professorship, the Alberta Centennial Award, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Fellowship, and the CSPS Leadership Award." Marcus Little, BComm. - Director

Mr. Little holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto and has extensive experience in the financial services sector. Since 1992, Mr. Little has been a partner with Performance Improvement Consultants, a business consulting firm in Toronto, Ontario. From 1988 to 1992, he was a principal in the Financial Services management consulting practice of Ernst & Young, Chartered Accountants, in their Toronto office. Prior to 1988, Mr. Little held senior management positions with several organizations in the financial services industry and has served on the boards of public companies.


Hafid Touam

Hafid Touam is presently Chief Executive Officer of TLO LLC, a company dedicated to business development and pharmaceutical product licensing activities. – From 1998 to 2004 Mr. Touam held the position of Sr. Vice President of Corporate Development for Ethypharm Corporation, North American subsidiary of French based Drug Delivery Company Ethypharm S.A. Before joining Ethypharm he worked 5 years as a Director of Licensing and Co-development for Prographarm S.A. another French Drug Delivery Company mostly in Europe. From 1985 to 1993 he held different management positions in the French branch of the Glatt Group a German company specialized in the development and manufacturing of laboratory and industrial equipment for the pharmaceutical & chemical industry. Mr. Touam holds an Honors Degree in International Trade from “Ecole des Cadres” in Paris, France.


Collen Ozee

Chief Financial Officer

Collen Ozee, B.Comm. lends her experience to EquiTech as the Interm Chief Financial Officer, responsible for Annual and Quarterly reporting of financial results and shareholder distributions, along with ensuring all relavant regulatory fillings are accurate and timely. Ms. Ozee has financial and business experience from her role with the Foundation Equity Coropration, an Alberta-based venture capital firm.
